Crochet Camp for Kids!
Has your kids expressed interest in your yarn stash? Have they wanted to 'play' with yarn like you do? Before they start unraveling our projects and using the 100% cashmere yarn for the cat to play with, let's direct all that curiosity and eagerness to be just like you into good places! We are hosting a Crochet Camp for kids here at Loopville, learning while surrounded by pretty yarns and inspiring colorful projects!
Every Saturday in July from 10:30 to 12:30, we will be teaching them the basics of crochet, from the foundational chain on to the stitches to create projects like amigurumi (those crochet toys you see on social media!). This will give them the skills and confidence to keep going with crochet if they want, and advance onto more complex projects! We will be making a Jellyfish!!
Fiber arts is a fantastic hobby for children to experience, as it teaches many little lessons alongside learning the stitches. One key lesson being patience as you slowly work creating a project stitch by stitch, but it also rewards them for their patience with a physical object that they created themselves, something that does not happen with video games after they complete them. It is very rewarding to have a tangible product of their efforts. It can also be a soothing and emotionally regulating activity if kids are needing a slow and calm hobby. Crochet and other fiber arts are also great for helping kids focus on their fine motor skills and their hand eye coordination together, and can even encourage better spatial awareness.

| Skill Details: | Learn to crochet! We will be crocheting a beginner's pattern together starting from chaining on to the basic stitches needed. |

| Requirements: | Be willing to learn and able to sit still long enough to learn the basics! We will be working our fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to crochet together! |
